Introduction: In a groundbreaking collaboration, Konnect IT joined forces with NeTech and Presidio to undertake a transformative project for the City Colleges of Chicago - Malcolm X campus. Tasked with modernizing the network infrastructure to meet the demands of a dynamic educational environment, the partnership embarked on a comprehensive deployment and configuration initiative, leveraging cutting-edge Cisco technologies to deliver unparalleled results.
At the heart of the project was the installation and configuration of Cisco 3850 switches across 22 IDF closets throughout the campus. Drawing on their collective expertise, the Konnect IT, NeTech (acquired by Presidio during the project) teams orchestrated a seamless rollout, ensuring that each switch was strategically positioned and optimized to enhance network performance and reliability.
In parallel, the partnership deployed Nexus 9000 switches equipped with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) capabilities to provide robust connectivity to the Internet. By leveraging BGP, the campus gained access to a scalable and resilient network architecture, capable of supporting the diverse needs of students, faculty, and administrators.
A key component of the project was the rapid deployment of over 70 Cisco 3700 Wireless Access Points (WAPs) within a tight two-month timeframe.
